On the noon of August 26, 2015, in wake of the heat of summer sunshine, Jiangxi Gas Duchang Co., Ltd (“Duchang Ltd”), a subsidiary of Oriental Gas Holdings Limited, held a donation ceremony in the meeting room on the second floor of its headquarters, in the presence of deputy county head and chairman of Red Cross chapter Jiang Qilun, vice chairperson Wu Yunfang, head of county development and reform commission Wu Kui, leaders of the local education bureau and related executives of Duchang Ltd. Duchang county television station covered this event live.
This donation is the largest single donation ever made in the history of Duchang County, in which Duchang Ltd donated 1.5 million Yuan to Red Cross Duchang Chapter for use in construction of facilities of Cailing Town Central Primary School in Duchang County. Deputy county head thanked Duchang Ltd for generous donation on behalf of Red Cross Duchang chapter, adding that this donation represents Duchang Ltd’s commitment to giving back to local communities, especially for educational undertakings and expecting all local companies to follow the example in support of the development of Duchang County. General manger of Duchang Ltd Li Qisheng said the company will continue supporting the construction of new socialist countryside and the Project Hope in Duchang County.
Founded in 1983, the primary school saw deteriorating infrastructure that causes numerous inconvenience to teachers and students due to financial insufficiency. This donation will help greatly improve the infrastructure of the school by building long-awaited dining halls, library and safer, more spacious and well-lit classrooms.
Duchang Ltd will continue to engage in various charitable initiatives in the future, bearing in mind its parent company’s commitment to giving back to wider society.
